Question from Reader

Q: Do you take any more supplements besides the Healthy Trim?

A: I only take the Healthy Trim and my One a Day Vitamin. I know they offer others, but this is the only one I'm taking right now. If you try their other ones, please let me know, I'd love to hear your experiences!

Hi!

How has everyone been doing?

I've been doing well- I've gotten to the gym more than once a week the past few weeks, so I feel great! I've decided to start weighing in once every 2 weeks, because I want to feel like I'm doing better than 2lbs a week, 4 in two weeks sounds so much better!

Welcome to the new readers! If you've got questions, please feel free to ask them!

Website: Cook yourself Thin

Here's a website for the week: Cook Yourself Thin!

Thank you to one reader for sharing this website! It's got a lot of great ideas for well balanced meals that are sure to keep you saying "yum"

I also love that it has you cook portion sized, rather than have to figure out portions after you've smelled it in the kitchen and gotten your mouth watering and wanting more!

If you have a website you go to for inspiration or for recipes, please share your experiences!

1 Song Challenge

So I read about this online somewhere, and I thought I would share.

Pick a song on your ipod or a CD and pick a target muscle group. Work out that muscle group to the beat for one song. Don't stop, if you burn, shake or feel weak, just get through it. Then pick another song and go for another target area. Do 3 target areas a day. it's quick, it will burn, but you'll feel good after doing it.

Here are some of the "target areas" and how I exercise them:
Abs: Crunches and leg extensions
Legs: lunges, squats, stairs (I literally go up and down)
Tricepts: I take a large kitchen pot, hold it over my head and then bend my elbows so that it goes behind my head

Share your around the house exercises!

Q & A From Reader

Q. Do you take the pill on an empty stomach, or do you eat something first?

A. That's a great question, I've tried it many different ways and have gotten varying results. Just remember it's different for everyone, so try it their way for a week and see how you feel/how it goes, then try it with a slight variation.

I've tried:
1. Empty stomach: So far this is what works the best for me. I feel like I need to drink more water this way, which is what makes it work the best. I also feel the most full this way
2. After a small amount of grapefruit: This is good when I wake up feeling weak/hungry. It does the trick for the short term but doesn't greatly change the effects I feel.
3. With a glass of milk: It was ok, but didn't work as well...
4. After a small protein bar: Worked the least, I was hungry for a snack

Don't forget: I'm not a medical professional, I'm just sharing my experience.

Workout progress

This might be gross and tmi, so feel free not to read.

I have a "muffin top" and have for many years now. It used to flap over and touch my skin again, it was SOOOOO gross. But now it doesn't touch itself! I'm really excited about that. Now it's still not flat, but it's more rounded than folded:) I also don't have the underboob roll anymore:)

At the gym, I was able to do the entire ab workout with the class I attend regularly, this was the first time that I didn't have to break!

What have you been doing to work out? I might go for a walk tomorrow afternoon to keep the daily routine going.

Good Weekend

So we hosted a football tailgate, and it included me making plenty of my favorite foods/dips. Luckily I wasn't too hungry, so it worked out well.

I had a few drinks, and I was SO full that I couldn't eat anymore. Honestly, I didn't eat that much.

I've been having grapefruit juice in the AM with my Healthy Trim. Then I've been having the second capsule with milk. I've barely had to eat anything for lunch.

I really hope that you all are having as much luck as I've been having!

I had a great weekend

I was at a football tailgate (which I typically over eat/drink at) but I was able to get away with a cheeseburger, some fruit salad and only a couple of drinks! Woo Hoo. I also had a lean steak which was VERY yummy.

How was your weekend?

Went for a walk!

We have been having gorgeous weather recently so I asked my husband to go on a walk with me. I can honestly say that I didn't feel the pain that I used to feel on walks 1/2 the distance! So I'm quite excited about that. Perhaps we'll walk a bit more often! The fresh air felt great!

Sticking to it...

I'm about to go onto my 3rd bottle, I've decided that it's the right move for now. I don't trust myself quite yet. hopefully after the third bottle I'll be able to not take Healthy Trim as much. I'd love to lose this weight naturally, but who knows how possible that is at this point! I'm just glad that I've got something like Healthy Trim to get me started. This is honestly the first time I've ever been able to lose weight, in my entire life.

A good snack...

I've been trying to do healthier meal supplements- not too starchy:)

So it's a great season for squash and zucchini! I've been steaming them, eating them raw, and even putting them in soup!

What is your favorite fall food?

Weigh in

Food To Love: Mini Peanut Butter Quaker Oats

Has anyone tried these yet? They're mini Quaker Oat Cakes and they have a sweet peanut butter drizzle on them. I had them as a snack, but they were much more like a dessert- oh and they're only 90 calories! Woo Hoo!

Milk, it does a body good...

So I've been taking one Healthy Trim in the morning with a few glasses of water. I've then been drinking water until lunchtime when I take another Healthy Trim with water. But, I've been getting home from work really late (8/8:30pm) and I am actually feeling hungry. SO before I even start cooking dinner, I have a glass of milk. This way I don't have those hungry feelings during dinner and overeat. If you're finding yourself in the same situation, it might be something good to try. Oh- and I only drink skim milk!

I had a great weekend!

Ok, I've been trying to post all night. It's not working! I'll update you as soon as blogger gets back to normal!

I was at a wedding this past weekend, so I'm going to hold the weigh in til next week because I know I'm not going to like the number looking back at me.

Keep an eye out for another "Filling" trick!

How is everyone doing?

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Good Morning

Today has been a pretty tough day for me emotionally- don't want to get into that because I'll start to cry and won't be able to see the screen to type!

BUT- I keep hearing about Healthy Trim and the results that everyone is getting on the radio and it's fantastic. It's always motivating me, because I actually believe them! I know I'm seeing results, and I'm proud of them- not yet proud enough to go on the radio, but it's pretty cool to know that other people are also benefitting from it!

Tuesday is always tough

Tuesday is forever providing me with challenges. We play team trivia at a local bar (we lost this week) and It's always so tempting to get something greasy! Well yesterday I got a salad and a chicken sandwich- but I still feel guilty. Does the guilt ever go away?

I think I'm going to try and eat before I go from now on- maybe that will help!

Weigh in!!

I almost forgot my weigh in for the week!!!

Start weight:238
Last week: 213
This week: 210.

I can see that I'm not losing as much each week, but I can honestly say that I am so happy to have found Healthy trim because it allows me to eat the foods I love while still losing weight. I'm confident that with Healthy Trim I'll be able to lose weight, slowly, and honestly- in a more healthy way!

Loved today!

Today was awesome! I was exhausted yesterday after a great wedding on Saturday, so I slept most of the day away- had just a bit of pesto chicken and spaghetti for dinner and a yogurt for lunch- such is life when you're sleep!

Anyway, for today's breakfast:
1. I had a grapefruit. I think I really feel better with having something (low calorie/metabolism booster) in my breakfast.
2. OJ- I feel a bit of a cold coming on, and I know it's not good, but I wanted a little extra vitamin C!

For lunch:MMMM
1. I had a great 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad at one of my favorite local restaurants.
2. 3 Glasses of water. I usually take Healthy Trim right before I get my meal, it keeps me full the rest of the afternoon. Then I make sure that for every few bites I have a sip of water or two. I usually fill up before the meal is over.

How was your lunch today?

I'm off to cook a healthy dinner! I'll be back to share another of my lower carb dinner ideas!

Lunch Today

I had a GREAT lunch today! and I just thought I would share. I had some left over grilled BBQ chicken with a side of green veggies- hit the spot, was filling, and has been keeping me going through the afternoon!

What did you have for lunch today?

Q & A: Frequency and eating

Q. How far apart do you take the Healthy Trim Capsules, and then when do you eat?

A. I take one in the morning at around 6:30. Then I drink a lot of water and usually eat lunch around noon. With lunch I have about 3 glasses of water. Then I take one capsule right after lunch. I don't eat again until dinner time- because I'm too full!

This Week

I've been debating whether or not I want to share the following news, because I'm really trying to stay anonymous to everyone. But I haven't given away all the info yet, so I think I can share all of this.

I've been struggling this week. But there are many factors that go into why I'm struggling. I haven't been able to eat at home, and we all know how bad restaurant food is for you! So I haven't been eating much, but I just can't eat as well.

I was one of the flood victims in Atlanta this past week. We still don't have drinking water, and we're staying with friends until we get water back. Many of our roads were down, so when we were home we weren't able to make anything with water- I wasn't able to drink as much water because we had to use it sparingly...

I'm just scare about my weigh in this week- and wanted to give you guys some background!

Question from Reader

Q: What do you think would happen if you didn't drink enough water?

A: Well, I'm not a medical professional, so please keep that in mind when you read my response. I know that Healthy Trim is a diuretic which mean that it dehydrates you. So to remain healthy, it's important to drink that water. I personally don't add anything to my water like crystal light because I worry about the salt it has as preservatives (which dehydrate your body more, and retain more weight)

On a side note, I really hate drinking water. I'm a very goal oriented person, so what I do to meet the daily requirement of water is I bought a nalgene bottle and fill it in the AM with water. Then I go in when I'm bored and take a drink. When I walk past the cafeteria, I get a drink.

But that's just how I do it. Overall, I think the water is an integral part of the diet!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Today

I'm home from work again and so far I've been behaving for the most part- It is more difficult to not eat when you've got access to food the whole day.

I've had a piece of pizza, and some yogurt with bunches of crunches (mmm)

I'm thinking of doing a roast chicken for dinner with some green veggies (no potatoes for me!)

I'm also thinking about going for a run if the sun ever comes out!

Monday, September 21, 2009

Weigh In!

I'm down to 213... That's a total loss of 25lbs! I can honestly say that I don't think I've been this weight in the past 3 years. I can also say I don't think I could have done it without Healthy Trim!

How is everyone else doing?

Q&A:Where to Buy Healthy Trim?

Question: Where can I buy Healthy Trim?

Answer: I think the only place you can buy Healthy Trim right now is www.healthytrim.com. If anyone knows of another location, Please Share!

How was the weekend?

How did everyone do this weekend?

I had a GREAT weekend! I had a wedding on Saturday so I enjoyed some great wedding food;) and I had a small snack bar all day. I weighed myself on Sunday, and it was awesome! I'll share that in the next post! I'm so excited!

Sunday was a lazy day. I had a bit of a grapefruit in the AM, followed by pizza for dinner.

I'm stuck at home today, so we'll see if I can stand the test of afternoon munchies with my fridge right around the corner!

Friday, September 18, 2009

Tonight

Besides the fact that I'm totally not tired... I'll tell you what I'm having for dinner tonight! I love the fact that I'm on a "diet" but still get to eat fun foods. The Healthy Trim really cuts back on what I feel like eating- even if it's TOTALLY beyond Yummy!

SO we're having some friends over, and the plan is: Cheese Burgers, Potato Salad, Artichoke and Spinach Dip & Cheesecake. I am going to do a little bit of each, and shouldn't feel too bad in the AM for the weigh in- I have a feeling it's in the 2-3 lbs this week:)

F2L: Betty Crocker Warm Delight Minis

I've fallen in love with Betty Crocker Warm Delight Minis. They're 150 calories, and it's delicious!

I've tried the molten chocolate cake, and it is one of my new favorites! They pack the mix and the filling in the bowl. You add a tiny bit of water, microwave and you've got a "warm delight!"

Try it!

Daily Diet Update:

Today was a pretty good day I think!

I had a small dish of pasta with pesto (very small), 1/2 a yogurt and a 100 calorie bar. I think the calorie count would be around 600 for lunch- not too shabby.

For dinner, I had a delicious pasta dish with chicken, peas, carrots, corn and green beans. It was in EVOO so I don't think it was too unhealthy. I then had a dish that I'm about to talk about on "food to LOVE!"

What did you have today?

Feedback Needed:

How are you guys doing?

(I'm still on a high from last night:) !)

Last night I cried...

Tears of JOY!!!

My husband was out of town for a conference so when he got home, he actually noticed a difference. (Or at least he said he did- what a great guy?:) ) But that's not the best part. When we were getting ready for bed, he turned to me and said "Those jeans look terrible on you- you have saggy drawers, don't you have any old pairs of jeans you could fit into?" The jeans I was wearing were a tight size 18 when I started this journey with Healthy Trim.

I am VERY happy to report that right now, I'm sitting in front of my computer wearing a size 14, and they're loose! I tried the 12 (which I haven't worn in over 6 years) and I was able to get them up, but it's still to tight. That's my new goal by the end of October.

It brought me to tears last night- I've opened up into a whole "new" wardrobe of clothes I haven't been able to wear in two years!

So why hadn't I done this for myself yet? I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to even go down one size (I did notice that I could take off the size 18 without undoing the zipper) but I was just nervous that I would get discouraged.

Seeing progress is by far the best feeling. Sure, the Healthy Trim is expensive, but I really feel like it's giving me an old life back, and I'm just going to keep getting smaller and smaller. I really can't believe this.

I hope that all of you are able to experience this soon!!!

So What's with today?

Happy Hump Day!

It's a funky weather day, and I feel kinda funky myself- I'm still full from yesterday and taking the Healthy Trim today has just made me a bit more full feeling. I didn't even want lunch. I ate parts of a chicken fajita, but couldn't finish even half. I guess that's better than over eating:)

How is everyone else doing on this hump day?

Plans for dinner: 1/2 salad- Gotta get back on track!

Tuesdays are bad days!!!

I've decided that Tuesdays are bad days for me! I have a chance to eat after work- and that was a disaster! I was snacking and I am so mad at myself right now! I knew it was a disaster with how full I felt, and I'm still full- I guess that means Healthy Trim works, you just have to be willing to listen to it! I knew I shouldn't be eating the stuff. I wasn't hungry (like I used to be when I would come home from work) but I still felt the need to eat. Why oh Why!?!

OK! No cheating for the rest of the week.

Have you guys had these moments?

Seeing the Difference

Other people that don't see you as often notice when you lose weight but when you look in the mirror every day, you may not notice it as much. I just happened to take a look in a mirror, and I actually noticed the weight loss. One of my least favorite areas are my shoulders. You can hide a tummy, you can hide a butt, but you can't wear sleeveless anything and hide the shoulders. I actually noticed the weight loss in my shoulders today. I almost started to cry. (also because I had pizza yesterday and felt guilty) But I could see definition between my shoulder.

Just thought I would share!

How are you feeling?

For those of you on Healthy Trim, how are you feeling? How long have you been on Healthy Trim? How is the weight loss going for you?

Good Morning!!

So I was pretty healthy over all yesterday at California Pizza Kitchen. I had one of their salads, and I LOVE that they offer 1/2 salads there! It was the perfect size- and I didn't even finish all of it. Plus the nearly 10 glasses of water that I had.

How is everyone doing this week? Does anyone have an update? I'll have my weight update tomorrow morning!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

I love what restaurants are doing!!!

Is anyone else in love with the fact that a lot of restaurants are putting their menu (with calorie count) online? I'm going out to dinner tonight, and I was able to look ahead and see what the best menu option is for me! If I eat the ENTIRE (which I won't) Chicken Caesar it's only 900 calories. So with my small lunch, I'm staying in the range I want for the day! Woo Hoo!

Have you noticed that restaurants are doing this for us?

Yesterday was a good day!

I was able to work out! Woo Hoo for cardio!

I had a chicken fajita for lunch, and chicken ranch salad for dinner.

I've decided that I'm going back to one pill in the morning and one pill at lunch. When I get home, I'm not too full to snack-a feeling that I don't like. And I'm able to eat a full dinner- another thing I don't like. So I'm going to do 2 a day but space them out!

As for today so far so good! 1/2 a turkey sandwich, 100 calorie kudos and a peach!

Tonight I'm going to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner, so we'll have to see what I can get on the healthy side of things.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

I over ate yesterday...

I wasn't hungry, but I ate waaaay too much last night at dinner. I'm really kinda mad at myself this morning. I guess it's ok to splurge every once in a while- but this MUST be my once in a REALLY long while! ACK!

It was a delicious Chicken Sandwich. And I had a small salad on top of that.

I guess I have to work out twice as hard today!

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Work Out Goals

I have not been meeting them! I need to get my arse to the gym! So- I'm going today. No ifs, ands or buts!

Do you belong to a gym, or do you work out at home? Do you have any at home routines you'd like to share? I just bought a yoga mat, so I might try to download the free video that comes with it.

Weekend Update

Well, it was quite the busy weekend for me. I did manage to keep my eating on the healthy side-even with the tempting burgers, and all that craziness!

Friday night was pretty relaxing. I was able to come home, grill up some pork chops, sit back and relax. I'm doing more with fresh apples now instead of applesauce. And instead of just doing a starch (like we usually did) I'm just doing veggies!

Saturday was a busy day. I had a football game to watch (didn't have beer- which was tough with all the peer pressure) While watching the game we had queso dip... very difficult to avoid-but I ate it in moderation! Then I had a buffalo chicken salad- managed to stay on the healthier side. I also had a wedding rehearsal, and wasn't very hungry afterwards- I just had a yogurt:)

Sunday was a good day as well, a bagel with light veggie cream cheese after church (and cucumbers) and then I didn't eat again until after the wedding (about 9pm- later than I usually like to eat) and had some roasted chicken.

Monday was a lazy sleep all day kind of day! LOVED IT! I ate pretty healthy with just a yogurt, 1/2 a turkey sandwich, lemon chicken, and a little bit of rice pilaf. I also have a new dessert to share for F2L this week... only 150 calories and soooo delicious!

How did everyone else do this weekend?

September's Goal

So my goal for September is: 205. Which is 12 lbs from where I am right now. I hope it's a realistic goal!

Week 5 Update!

Well, I woke up early this morning because I knew it was a weigh in date... Drumroll please!

Starting Weight: 238
Last Week:221
This week: 217
Loss this week 4
Total loss: 21lbs!!!!

I'm doing backflips!

Thursday, September 3, 2009

F2L: Wendy's Jr. Frosty.

Ok, so I don't think I'll ever be able to give up my love of sweets, or fast food for that matter, it's just a matter of moderation! So here's my food to love for the week.

Jr. Frosty from Wendy's. If you're in need of a chocolate fix, this is perfect. They're 150 calories, and just enough. (It's not the small, but a JR.) The small is much larger and has a lot more. It was the perfect snack sized treat and totally fixed a minor craving I was having:) Limiting my chocolate on this Healthy Trim diet hasn't been tough, but I do really miss it, so it was great to meet up with an "old friend" yesterday.

I did however promise myself that I only get it once a month, so until then it's back to healthier yogurt!

Pictures

So many of you might be wondering, what does she look like? What is her goal? Where was she years ago. So here's a bit more info for you:

I grew up always having a home cooked dinner (Healthy ones). When I turned 16 I didn't get the home cooked meals anymore. I started working at a restaurant and would eat there for free- so why not get something fatty that's free? When I started driving, fast food restaurants became VERY appealing to me. I fell in loved with Kraft Mach & Cheese. It was all down hill from there.

So, to give myself a bit more motivation, I'm going to post 2 pictures, one from back in the day, and one from just before I started taking Healthy Trim. Hopefully in the next few months, I'll have a new picture to show of the Healthy Trim results- for right now, I only have #s to give you guys, but they're numbers I'm proud of!

Confident for Weigh in!

So I'm really getting excited for this week's weigh in. I think I'm going to be under 220 which I haven't been in over a year! Thanks to Healthy Trim for taking away my appetite!

I've been eating a lot more salads. When I was in High School (My all time dream weight) I would eat salads every day for lunch, and that was it. So I'm going to try to go back to that. We'll see how it goes!

2 Healthy Trim Capsules in the AM

Yesterday I had quite the variety for lunch:
-Yogurt (only half the container, I couldn't finish the rest)
-Cucumber and Tomato Salad
-A Healthy Recipe Pasta

1 Healthy Trim Capusle at 12 noon

For dinner:
-2 BBQ Wings (I used to eat a dozen, so this was quite the step for me)
-A cobb salad with mushrooms, tomatoes, a little ranch, chicken -very yummy!

Overall Calories: Lunch-450, Dinner 650 Total=1100
Times I "felt" hungry- 1, at around 5:30pm so I had a peach!

Who's Counting?

I'm just wondering how many of you out there are counting your calories. If so, how do you do it? Do you carry a notebook? Do you keep track mentally? Or do you have a better way? I'm thinking about using my blackberry to keep better track, because mentally I only estimate unless I have a computer in front of me that I can look it up on.

Any suggestions on software programs?

Food to Love: Southwest Chicken Salad

So I had this the other day for lunch, and I couldn't believe how great it was! Here's what I put in it:

1: Romaine Lettuce: 5 leaves-10 Calories
2: Yellow Corn: 1/4 Cup-35 Calories
3:Avocado: 1/4 Cup- 60 Calories
4:Tomato: 1/4 Cup- 5 Calories
5:Shredded Cheese: 1/8 Cup- 55 Calories
6: Chicken: 1/2 Breast, Grilled-140 Calories
7: Salsa Ranch: 3tbs-120 Calories

Woo Hoo A GREAT lunch or dinner salad for under 450 Calories! And it's totally Yummy! You can prep it by having all of the "wet ingredients in one pack- then put it all over the salad when ready- leaving the lettuce crisp when you get to it! ENJOY

PS-I wasn't able to finish this salad because I was full from the Healthy Trim! (At least I was meantally)

Daily Update

Yesterday was a busy day with flying, driving, and very little eating, so for dinner I had some grapes, a salad (salsa ranch...mmm) and a cucumber and tomato salad with champagne vinegrette!

I really love ranch dressing. I used to put it on EVERYTHING! Salad, pizza, pasta, veggies, chips, everything! I never realized how many calories it has. One little pack can have over 200! So I saw a recipe online for Salsa Ranch. By mixing salsa with my ranch in a 2:1 ratio (make sure it's natural, sugar free) It cuts a lot of the calories out and increases the fiber that you're getting. I loved this idea and will be using it on salads for lunch. I think I've got a new Food 2 Love post coming up!

Such A great (and healthy) weekend

I'm so excited to be back after an amazing weekend visiting great family and friends. I had a christening and I was the God Mother :) Sooo of course there was TONS of food- but I'm proud to say that I did a great job of avoiding the unhealthy stuff! I stuck with the mayo-less salads, and went for the vinegar based cucumber and greenbean salad! I also had only 1/2 a cookie during the party and 1/2 a sausage from the sausage and peppers. I was so proud. So far today, I've had a hardroll with a little butter on it- not my first chioce, but there wasn't much else at the airport, unfortunately.

I think when I travel from now on, I'm going to pack food- it was tough to find healthy things at the airport. Although, the Wendy's salad was pretty good (didn't even finish all of it!) PS- I Really really wanted a frosty, and said that if I was still hungry after the salad, I would go back and get it. Thankfully, the Healthy Trim kept me full enough to where I didn't crave it! Thanks Healthy Trim! So many fewer desserts and bad food because of you!

Happy Monday!

How is everyone feeling this week!?

I'm a bit depressed to get back to work after an awesome weekend visiting family!

Some of them mentioned that I looked great and that they thought I was losing weight- GO ME! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Anyone setting weekly goals this week? Mine: Work out twice! We'll see how it goes! You guys better hold me to it!

F2L: Peaches are in season!

Are you looking for another fun dessert? How about a tasty alternative to that sugar and calorie full peach cobbler.

With Healthy Trim, I find that I have to select what I'm going to indulge on (and it's ok to indulge every once in a while) But when I found this recipe, I also found out that it's not indulging! Woo Hoo! So with my low cal high protien dinner, I get to enjoy this new savory dessert! And, I love peaches in anything, so that might be the best part!

Grilled Peach al a frozen yogurt
If you cut a peach in half, and brush it with vegetable oil, grill it up (on high) and it's done when fork tender. Take it off and add 1 scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt and sprinkle a little bit of coconut! YUMMY

Best Part: Under 150 calories!

Does anyone else have any healthy fruit dessert recipes!

Food 2 Love: 100 Calorie Kudos Bars

I've officially added them to my lunch box! They're awesome!

They have: m&m, snickers and chocolate chip!

What fun stuff! And only 100 calories- takes away any sweet craving!

Daily Diet

Well- I'm visiting family this weekend, so this always makes it tough. Today I woke up and my WONDERFUL mother in law had cooked breakfast, eggs, bacon, crumb cake... all delicious and oh so tempting! So here's what I did:

-An eggs worth of scrambled eggs
-One strip of bacon (SO TEMPTING)
-A handful of Grapes
-A few pieces of grapefruit (Just found this bulk container- might have to add this to my food to love section!)
-and 1/4 cup of coffee (because my mother in law got me my favorite flavor creamer, just for me, couldn't turn it down)
-SMALL piece of steak
-Salad

It seems like alot when I type it out- I'll have to pass on even more tomorrow! How did everyone else do today?

Setting Goals

Many of you that have either e-mailed me or left comments here on the blog have told me what your overall goal is, and they're great! I hope that every single one of you accomplishes your goals!

I'm not sure about any of you, but I am one of those people that easily gets discouraged, especially when it comes to weight loss! So here's what I've done. I've set short term goals. My total goal is 88 lbs. I'm very passionate about that number! BUT- I know that it's not realistic for this month, and probably not even this calendar year. So I set up mid-way goals for 1 month out, for new years day, and for a year from the start of all this! I've made my 1 month goal, so I ordered another bottle of Healthy Trim! As long as it's working, I'll keep using it!

Goal 1: 20lbs in first month! (I took 1 week off for vacation)
Goal 2: 50lbs total loss by New Years day (Ouch- gotta watch out for Christmas Calories)
Goal 3: 88lbs total loss by July of next year

Follow the blog to find out if it all works!

Also- Share your goals! I'd love to hear them, as would everyone else!

Question from Reader:

Q: I would like to know what is in it exactly because sometimes even natural ingredients mixed with certain prescription meds can be dangerous--and I am on a few maintenance meds. Would you mind posting the ingredients?

A: Great Question! Thanks for asking! I am not a health care professional, so I can't tell you how Healthy Trim will react with your current meds, I did ask my doctor before starting (Because I'm on currently on a maintenance med) So thanks for asking!

Here's what's coming straight from the bottle: All Pharmaceutical Grade
Green Tea Leaf Extract (standardized for epigallocateching gallate), Hoodia Gordonii Stem, Caralluma Gibriata Stem extract, (Amylum, Coix, seed, Poria Cocus, Cassia seed, Lotus leaf, water plantain rhizome, cumquat, mulerry leaf, methionine), garcinia cambogia fruit extract (standardized for (-) hydroxycitricacid), Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf extract (standardized for 50% resveratrol) (polygonum cuspidatum) (fruit), Eleutherococcus Senticocus root, L-theanine, Pyruvate Bioperine, (standartized for black pepper extract) (piper longum) (fruit), Banaba leaf extract (stanndardized for corosolic acid), 72 Trace minerals

Hope this helps!

Portion Size

One of the biggest helpers to my weight gain was portion size. I could go to a chain restaurant and eat the entire plate and still be helping myself to more bread, or dessert, or a bite off of my husband's plate! Since being on Healthy Trim, I've used a few tricks to get past the huge portions!

1. PUT IT AWAY! I used to prepare dinner, leave it on the stove while I ate my first serving, then I would go back for another serving. Pretty soon, there were no leftovers. So now, my way of fixing this is to take that second portion and put it in tupperware, it makes 2 great lunches for my husband and I later in the week. The Healthy Trim keeps me from feeling like I need more, and not seeing it, makes it much easier!
2. PACK IT UP! When we go out to eat, I always ask for a to-go box with my meal, I take 2/3 of it and put it away. It's not good for me to eat it all, I know that. I also know that I don't need to eat it all to make my body feel full, so I pack it up. It's much more difficult to eat (because I get embarassed really easily thinking people are looking at me saying- chubby girl has no self control) So it's away, and it's lunch!
3. Stock the fridge with smaller quantities! It was so easy to go and get an ice cream with 4 scoops, chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc. Now, I have 100 calorie ice cream bars that do the trick, that feel better about eating, and that keep me "full" I also buy 1/2 bags of popcorn for snacks, instead of the huge bag (That I was once able to eat on my own)
4. Out to lunch- Only order the lunch portion! I used to go to restaurants and order lunch- but the things I would order would only come in dinner portions, bummer? NO! I would eat it all- gross. I would also feel like crap the rest of the afternoon, lose/lose situation there! So now, even if I'm at dinner, I try to order the lunch portion if I can!

Do you have any tips or tricks you'd like to share? I'd love to hear them- I'm always looking for new ideas!

How much do I need to eat

When on a diet, it's important to eat at least what your body needs to keep running, otherwise you'll get tired and you may end up overeating (bad foods) to compensate.

Here's what we need to think about:

655+(4.3 x weight in lbs) + (4.7 x inches in height) + (4.7 x age)

So for me, that's around 1800 Calories. I want to lose a little bit more, so I'm ok giving my body between 1500-1700 caloriees a day. Otherwise I'll be hungrier the next day and be tempted to binge eat!

So on a daily diet I'll have:
1) A million glasses of water
2) 1/2 a sandwich
3) 100 Calories of Yogurt
4) 125 Calories of Granola
5) A Piece of Fruit
6) A sweet fix of 100 calorie pack of sorts

That keeps me under 500 for lunch, then I have a bit more for dinner!

New Followers!

Welcome to the new followers! Do you have any specific questions you'd like to ask? Is there anything you'd like me to cover more of? Are there any topics you enjoy hearing about?

Thank you for joining me on my journey!

Here I go again!

Well, I've started the second run of Healthy Trim this morning. I'm going to try what a reader suggested with 2 capsules of Healthy Trim in the AM, and 1 at lunch time.

I had the 2 this morning, accompanied by a HUGE bottle of water:) And that seemed to keep me full until lunch time. Chinese food- 2 pieces of chicken, a fork full of rice, a fortune cookie and that was about it:)

I'll be traveling tonight- so let's see how I can do with airport food! Any suggestions? Maybe I'll try for a salad or something light like that!

So I tried to stop for a week...

As many of you know, the economy sucks. Well I was trying to be a little money saver and cut back on costs. So I tried a week of no Healthy Trim to see if I could still lose weight. Here's what I found:

1. I was back to snacking- unhelathy snacks.
2. I was getting hungry by 9:30am.
3. I needed more food to not feel hungry.
4. I had a lot of cravings
5. I wanted soda with meals

So here's what I did: I ORDERED ANOTHER BOTTLE OF HEALTHY TRIM! I can't wait til it gets here so I'm back on the weight loss kick!

Daily Diet Goals!

Well I know that I'm on Healthy Trim, and that I'm trying to lose weight in a healthy way. I also know that I want to keep it off long term and turn this experience into a way of life rather than a short term fix... so here I am.

I've been setting daily diet goals, and I think it's important for anyone on a diet. So you should set (**Realistic**) goals of your own. If you have questions as to why I set mine in specific ways, I'd be happy to answer them for you!

Goals:
1. Under 1200 Calories a Day- Why: I've looked at many calculators online, and averaging all their advice, this is a round number a little less than they suggest- because I have lofty goals!
2. Eat fewer sweets- as I'm sure you've noticed from the blog, I LOVE SWEETS- So I'm having 100 calories of sweets a day!
3. Increase my protein 1.5 fold. Why? because the Healthy Trim bottle says to, but also because I know it will give me the energy I need.
4. Only have carbs in my afternoon meal. Carbs take a lot of energy to burn, and I know that I'm not very active after dinner, so I'm going to see if this helps as well! (This excludes my 100 calorie dessert of course!) I'm talking more like potatoes, rice, etc.
5. More fresh fruit and veggies-We've recently been using frozen veggies and fruit that is pre-packaged, so now I think my husband will kill me because we'll spend more on this plan. We'll see I guess!

I'll keep you updated!

Oh No! Where did I go?

Sorry everyone- I wasn't sure if there was anyone out there following my blog! But YES, I am still here:)

To give you an update- last week was pretty emotional for me. I have two close friends getting divorced, and it hit me very hard- I stopped eating healthier, and felt sick! I was still taking Healthy Trim, but when you over eat on it, you feel even worse than you normally would. Make sure you're being smart when you're taking it!

On the gym note: I've been going more- it feels great to get that energy out! I mix the cardio and the weight training, and it feels good, and makes me feel good about myself:)

If you're looking for a weight update: I'm ashamed to say I'm only down to 121. It's unfortunate that I couldn't lose more, but the emotion of last week really hit me hard!

Food to LOVE!

Ok, so everyone knows: Cravings are real, especially for women during that time of the month! No amount of Healthy Trim will overcome estrogen! So I make my body happy, while sticking to a low cal diet!

My current Craving Crusher: 100 Calorie Klondike Bars! They are SO yummy! One is totally enough, and they even have a toffee cruch! They're so great that I even catch my husband snackinig on them!

Try them out!

A bit more about me

I think that diets are different for everyone. I have tried the Atkins, South Beach, Heavy work out, low fat, etc. Nothing has worked thus far. I typically end up weighing more afterwards! My reasoning: On specialty diets, you can eat as much fatty, calorie free foods as you want, just make sure there are no carbs. Sure- it's easy, but once you're off, you still have the mentality that you can just eat and eat and eat. That's what messes me up!

So with this diet, I hope that it curbs my apetite enough to limit what I want to eat in the future:)

So what led to such bad habbits: my driver's license. I think that as soon as I was able to drive myself around, I wasn't able to make good decisions and would end up at McDonald's and Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts. So a secondary goal on this diet is to comepletely cut out those fast food chains. I'll let you know how it goes!

Question From Reader:

As I mentioned, I would honestly answer any questions that readers might have. So here's the first one!

Q. How easy is it to fall asleep at night while taking Healthy Trim? Do you find yourself restless?

A. To be honest, I've noticed that it takes a bit more time to fall asleep while taking the Healthy Trim. I try not to take the second capsule after 12, because otherwise it's 11 or 12 before I fall asleep. It hasn't caused me to wake up in the middle of the night, but I have noticed that I am a bit more restless after the first alarm goes off. I used to be able to fall right back asleep, not so much anymore- but who knows, that could be the stress of work as well.

Great question! Thanks for asking.

Remember, if you have a question feel free to e-mail it to girlonhealthytrim@gmail.com I'll be answering them as they come in!

The Weekend...

As I get ready to start another week on Healthy Trim, I'm still SORE! We went to the gym on Saturday for a class that usually kicks my butt. This time, it especially did!

It was a great weekend menu: Scrambled eggs, 1/2 turkey sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich with FRENCH FRIES (mmm), pork chops, garlic green beans, rosemary potatoes, and a few yogurts along the way.

I feel pretty healthy this morning. I think the amount of water intake is really making a difference! I can't wait to see the # on the scale this week! Wish me luck for the week!

Yesterday:

Boy oh Boy! It was quite the interesting day! Normal lunch and such, but I went to an event tasting at a Tapas Restaurant, and was able to really enjoy a little bit of everything without over eating! I wasn't hungry, so I just ate for taste and to enjoy the food, great experience all around!

We had a little bit of calamari (with a spicy Asian mustard sauce), Flank steak with an arugula salad, a fresh mozzarella flatbread, hummus, crab and avacado salad, and a cheese plate. All were very yummy. I even had a little bit of dessert. I wish I could have had more, but luckily, the Healthy Trim made me feel JUST full enough to not take a few last bites!

What's on the plan for today: THE GYM. I'm starting to include that into the schedule. Yes, I'm losing the weight- but I want to make sure there's muscle under there!

Food to LOVE...while you're on a diet

Healthy Trim has afforded me the opportunity to make smarter decisions with what I eat. Lunckily, thanks to Healthy Trim, I've been able to lose weight thus far, and continue to do so.

So on this week's edition of F2L, I'm sharing one of my all time favorites: Yogurt.

Reasons it's good for you:
1. Calcium: Surprisingly, you get more from yogurt than you would from a glass of milk. Ladies, this is especially important for us in the earlier years- preventing osteoperosis! Woo Hoo-
2. Potassium: I can't stand bananas, so this is a great way to keep the muscle aches away!
3. Protein: It's got just as much as scrambled eggs, but without the cholesterol
4. Bacteria: Helps with digestion and keeps things "regular" if you will.

Ways to make it yummy:
1. Add fresh fruit: I love adding peach chunks, strawberries, and at times put a little on an apple.
2. Granola: I personally don't like rasins, but you can get granola with almost any type of nuts and with or without rasins, add a fews tbs and you've got a crunchy snack.
3. Nuts: I like adding grape nuts, but I know plenty of people that also include almonds and more.

So I've got quite the sweet tooth, and usually crave something sweet after dinner. Not so much now that I'm taking the Healthy Trim, but some none the less. So I reach for a yogurt, 100calories and just enough to make me happy. There are a few fun flavors out right now and they're my new favorites: Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Orange Creamsicle, Keylime Pie, Chocolate Mouse, and more! I also love the Whipped variety that Yoplait has!

Another quick update!!

It has been a great week so far. Monday I had a great salad for dinner, and we've been doing a lot of fresh veggies and chicken.

I also enjoyed a yogurt with granola for lunch. I've also been snacking on some new great things that I'm going to share in my next "Food to LOVE... while on a diet" post! I'm adding that to my weekly blogging schedule!

I'll be updating on weight later this week... and I can't wait! I'm super excited to share the new # on the scale.

I cheated on lunch Tuesday with pasta- I swear my body aches for it every once in a while- What does your body ache for?

Food Diary

Yesterday was a good day I think! I started off with my bottled water in the AM and one Healthy Trim Capsule. By lunch (2pm) I still wasn't hungry- but I ate about 3/4 cup of left over stir fry, 1/2 a peach and a couple of cookies. I also had 2 glasses of water.

From there I actually felt a bit in a snacky mood when I got home- which was unusual. I had a couple glasses of water, and that went away. I think that's one trick, when you feel snacky, have a glass of water! The cravings go away!

For dinner I had a boneless pork chop with a bit of apple sauce, and a 1/4 cup of cous cous that I flavored. I also ate a dessert of Key Lime Whipped Yogurt.

I think total calorie count for the day was probably under 1,500! Which is great! one more day til weigh in!

What would you like to know?

I've noticed that there are a few of you visiting my site each day, probably because you're on the fence about Healthy Trim, as am I. I've been happy thus far, but I want to make sure that it can get me where I want to be before I officially endorse it.

I also want to make sure that I'm as up front with all of you as possible! When I was looking into taking Healthy Trim, I was looking online like crazy to see what it was like, and the best thing I could find was a blog with like 3 posts about Healthy Trim. Here, I want to be able to share all of my experiences and help you make a smart decision.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I'd love to hear from you!

Compliments:

What I've heard thus far:

1. My previous manager walked up to me in the hall and asked me what was different about my face- I told her it was probably the tan. From there she said that it looked as though I had lost weight- Oh Yeah!! She doesn't even know that I'm on a diet!

2. One of the women that works down the hall stopped me to say that it looked like my face was slimming out!!! She wants to know that the Healthy Trim will work because she's thinking about taking it too. She went online and ordered a bottle! Woo Hoo!

3. I came back to my building and the girl across from me said she noticed that I am losing weight:) Yipee!

4. My jeans are a little loose!

5. The number on the scale is awesome!

Anniversary Gift

Well today is my anniversary, and I'm back on Healthy Trim- It's great!! I had a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad. It was perfect size. I had 4 glasses of water with lunch (I get really thirst when I'm eating!)

From there, I enjoyed a bit of stir fry for dinner, with a SMALL slice of cake:)

I probably had close to 10 glasses of water today... patting myself on the back!

So you're probably asking what my anniversary gift was... well it was a gift to myself: I took a step on the scale and saw a NEW NUMBER!!! 228! I'm down 10 pounds, and that's with a vacation in the middle!

Saturday, July 25, 2009

Ok where have I been?

I was on vacation all last week, knew I didn't want to keep the diet up, so I decided to skip last week of taking it. I had a date with captain morgan... the good news:

I didn't gain any weight on vacation!! Woo Hoo!!

I tried to make sure that I didn't eat my normal portions, I ate smaller portions, and tried not to snack. I also made sure to get my metabolism going early by eating breakfast, usually yogurt and granola.

Woo Hoo!

An AM Thought

Unfortunately I'm back to work today...

Sad to see the number on the alarm clock, for sure. I've decided to take the capsule as soon as I wake up. Before I was getting up, showering, getting ready and taking the capsule. There was still that temptation to grab something for breakfast on my way out the door, so hopefully this plan will help, I'll update you on that!

Monday, July 13, 2009

Where did that habit go?

Ok so one thing I've noticed is that the capsule is helping me make good decisions. Here's my reasoning:

1. Healthy Trim makes me feel full, to the point where at times when I'm used to eating, I don't want to eat.
2. I know I need to eat, but only want to give my body good things to work on, so I'm eating better (more fresh fruit, yogurts, and veggies!)
3. I'm not snacking! It's very exciting:) I typically don't make smart decisions in the afternoon when I get home from work. I will snack on popcorn, candy, soda, chocolate, etc. But I have stopped. I still feel like I should because it's a habit, but I don't feel like I NEED to (Like I once did)
4. I've substituted a glass of water when I feel the "itch to eat" an afternoon snack.

I'm excited about this habit going away, I would probably consume anywhere from 200-600 calories in an afternoon snack, cutting that out alone, I'll hopefully notice a difference!

Day 3 Recap

Well, it's day 3 and my feet are a little sore from the shoes I wore all night, but other than that, the body feels great! I woke up just after 11 and it was one of my best nights sleep in a while!

So let's do a run down of the day!

11:00am Wakeup!!! I took Healthy Trim #1 with a 1/2 glass of OJ (One of my morning things I just can't give up!) I also had a whipped yogurt because it was nearly lunch time and knew my body needed something, even if I wasn't hungry.
11:00- Probably only had about 4 glasses of water before dinner. Not the best idea, because my mouth felt dry, but I just felt too full to drink anymore... I think the eating right away may not have been the best idea in terms of allowing the pill to totally take effect.
3:30p I took the other capsule for the day with a full glass of water
9:00p Well my husband's flight was re-routed, so I actually had 4 hours to waste around the airport. I decided to go the healthy route and go to Ruby Tuesdays. (Second time that week, and I usually never go...) I got the salad bar, and had a couple of bites from the meal I ordered my husband.
12:00a Bed time!

What I was really excited about: I am getting really good nights sleep, and I feel really rested in the morning!!!

One thing to keep in mind: Make sure you can use the restroom throughout the day- I peed and peed and peed and peed! Holy cow!

Day 2 Recap

Well today was great! I got to wake up late and relax a little in the morning. I'm a wedding planner and I need my energy through out the day. I was worried that by not eating, I wouldn't be able to function. But I still pretty much followed the diet plan:

8:00a Wake up, took Healthy Trim #1
8-12:00p I drank as much water as humanly possible (like 5 glasses, I was really thirsty this morning!)
12:oop I finally actually felt a little hungry, which I personally think is a good thing, so I took Healthy Trim #2 for the day heated up some left over pork, a few teaspoons of apple sauce and a yogurt. That was enough to tide me over for quite a while.
2:00p It was time for work to begin for the day, so I packed up my car with tons of bottled water.
9:00p My normal dinner time on wedding days, it was a nice chicken breast and steamed veggies. I also had a few bites of pasta salad, but that was enough for the day.
2:00a I finally got home, so it was nice to get a cold water, and a little midnight snack of 2 snackwells cookies (total of about 50 cal)

How did I feel throughout the day?
-Well rested, I didn't miss out on any sleep because of the caffeine and other stimulants in the capsules
-A bit jittery around 7, not antsy this time, but feeling like I needed water. And that was enough to tide me over.
-Not tired at all. I usually feel exhausted when I get home from a long wedding, but today I felt like I could keep going- a VERY nice change:)

So far I'm still really happy about the opportunity to lose weight, and about the way this is making me feel.

Day 1 Recap

I'm only going to do weigh ins once a week, but I thought I would update you on how I feel after day 1.

I started off feeling antsy but that mellowed out come lunch time. I felt really energized throughout the day, up until about 11:00 at night when I finally calmed a bit.

So what was the day like?
6:15a- Wakeup
6:45a- Took Healthy Trim #1
7-11a- 8oz water an hour
9a-A small bag of peanut (not because I felt hungry but because I knew I needed to eat!)
11:30a- took Healthy Trim #2 for the day
12p- Lunch of grilled chicken and small spinach pasta side (boxed most of it up for left overs) also had 3 glasses of water with lunch
1-4p- Not as much water as they suggest, but working on it for today!
7- Dinner: Girls Night!!! Salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays, low fat dressing on spinach salad. I used to be ble to go up for seconds and thirds! I didn't even finish the first plate! I also had 4 glasses of water (Poor Waitress!)

We then went to see The Proposal. It was great!!!

I'll let you know how today goes!

Feelings so far today:
Antsy (Not jittery, just wanting to be active)

Excited! I hope it works

What I've eaten: 1 small bag of peanuts!

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

What did I eat today?

Nothing I'm proud of! I wish I had the Healthy Trim already. Maybe it would help me make better decisions! I guess we'll find out!

-Bagel with Veggie Creamcheese (not low fat:( )
-Glass of OJ
-2 cups water
-2 low fat chewy chocolate chunk granola bars
-peanut butter crackers
-peach
-Vanilla Ice Cream
-Bag of Popcorn
-1.5 cheese burgers
-potato salad

TOO MUCH! Can't wait to try Healthy Trim

The Basic Plan

So what's the basic idea here? It's to weigh a lot less by next Summer. I'm realistic and don't expect to lose all the weight I want to lose in no time flat. I'll try to be patient!

Here are the short term and long term goals:
1. Get Healthy Trim in the mail tomorrow morning
2. Begin taking healthy trim on Friday (7/10/09)
3. Lose 15lbs in first month (Do you think it's realistic?)
4. Lose 50lbs by Christmas
5. Maintain weight over Christmas Break (mmm cookies)
6. Lose another 20lbs by next summer.

Current Weight: 238lbs (Oh my!)
Target Weight: 150lbs (88lbs later!)

Helpers along the way:Healthy Trim, Gold's Gym, nutritionist online, and a supportive husband!

Wish me luck!!!!

What's my Story?

To give a little background about me. I was once a size 6 sophomore in High school, just under 140lbs. I thought I was hot stuff, and if you saw me now, you might shudder.

Driving hit me like a ton of cheeseburgers, because drivethroughs were accessable to me all of the sudden! Bad move! Working in the food industry also hit me hard. By high school graduation I was up to a size 12.

College was... college; beer, grilled cheese, ice cream, pizza- basically the most unhealthy diet you can have. Meet the size 16 me.

Married life- settled, comfortable, and now a size 18-20 that can't find a pair of gap jeans to fit me. So it's time to move forward. This is it.

Why write this blog?

So here I am, over weight and embarassed. I've tried other options, and nothing seems to work. So I'm excited to try Healthy Trim and see what kind of results it can give me.

The plan is to include the following in the blog:
1-Weight Reports
2-Weekly Goals (Eating & Exercize)
3-A daily run-down on when I take them, what I drink, what I eat, and exercizes
4-RESULTS (Hopefully there are some good ones :) )
5-Pictures when I'm confident enough!

Please note: I'm not a health professional. I don't even know if this stuff is going to work for me! So take all my words at face value, don't expect my results to be comparable to yours, we're all made differently, but I hope that I'll be able to help give girls a look into what it's like taking this pill!

Thanks for reading!
